The number of libraries drvie can be installed at one computer is limited only by the computer’s available resources and system performance.

When you reconfigure a library using Device Configuration, all previous option values will be cleared. This option lets Arcserve Backup initialize faster by designating media with a bar code that is not recorded in the Arcserve Backup database as “Not Inventoried. Allows the scheduling of tape library cleaning, provided the library supports this feature Single-step library group spanning: This option lets Arcserve Backup initialize faster by bypassing the inventory slots process when the Tape Engine starts.
Scheduling features include extended virtual library support. If you added, removed, moved, or swapped media, you should manually inventory the entire library or inventory the slots that changed.
The quick initialization option takes affect after you complete the first full inventory of the library. This section describes how to configure a library when Arcserve Backup does not automatically detect and configure the library, or you want reconfigure a library.
Arfserve provides support for tape libraries that have multiple drives as well drrive single drives. This option is designed for libraries that cannot read bar codes. After you start or stop and restart the Tape Engine, Arcserve Backup automatically detects and configures your libraries with a default set of options.
Media that is designated as not inventoried can remain in its slot until you need it. Arcserve Backup must inventory the library after you configure the library. Allows a changer with more than 1, slots to be displayed in a list in the right panel instead of in the tree of devices System Requirements: If you are assigning drives manually, the drives inside multiple drive libraries must be assigned in the order that the library detects them.
If a drive in a multiple drive library becomes defective, it can be marked as offline. The engine must be stopped to configure a library device.

Scheduled automated library cleaning procedures: This option is hape installed with your ARCserve Windows base product A license key will activate this feature. As a result, Arcserve Backup does not repeat the inventory process when the Tape Engine is restarted. Device manager window allows you to track the initialization process.

For multiple drive libraries, the Tape Engine uses all of the drives for the initialization process. For more information about global options, see the Administration Drlve.
This enables the Tape Engine to continue tooperate using the remaining non-defective drives in the tape srcserve. It supports and provides advanced device and media management for multiple drive libraries.
